Home cooked food, drinks and guests having sprightly conversations, welcomed us at Sophie’s home on Saturday evening. In the lounge room, by bedroom lamp, we sat in waiting, to the sounds of guitar tuning.
Melbourne singer songwriter, Gretta Ray’s low tone, vocal control and, cleverly written songs certainly don't hint at the fact that she is still in high school.
But, Gretta’s age shouldn’t detract from the incredibly articulate and relatable lyrics she writes. If anything it’s inspiring to know that someone so young can have that much insight and awareness.
Host, Sophie, after finding herself speechless once Gretta had played, labelled the night a success thanks to Gretta's talent, which captivated the silent audience. She is a superb songwriter, who I can't wait to see more from. Gretta will be releasing an EP in the coming months.
