With a few light drizzles, the sky was threatening to open up on the back courtyard at James and Lachie's place in Cremorne. As we feverishly checked the rain radar and toyed with the idea of cramming 40 people into a small loungeroom, the rain eased and Alice Ivy took the stage.
A laptop and sample pad at hand, Annika (AKA Alice Ivy) mixes drum beats with funky horn loops and 1940s music samples to create incredibly satisfying electronica. It's so refreshing to see this style of music at a house concert. The perfect vibe for a house party.
